I have spent a large part of my life working as an international humanitarian aid worker in post-conflict countries such as South Sudan, Cambodia, and Myanmar. Many of the images you see are taken when I was working as a civilian with the United Nations Peace Keeping Mission in Sudan and South Sudan. During the nine years that I lived and worked in South Sudan I traveled to remote areas where I was able to capture images of the Dinka community, many of whom live an agro-pastoral existence. Other images include Nepal in 2015 just after the devastating earthquake that killed around 8,000 people and displaced many more. I arrived in the country to work for the UN a couple of weeks after the earthquake. Through my work with the United Nations and with non-government organisations, I have had the opportunity to live and work alongside communities, who like so many people affected by conflict, war, or natural disaster, possess an incredible strength and courage. I hope that my images manage to capture their resilience.
